Messier 17

M17, also known as the Omega Nebula or Swan Nebula, is one of the brightest and largest star-forming regions in the Milky Way.  M17 is located in the constellation Sagittarius which is difficult to image in the UK due to it's low southern position.  

I captured this target over 3 nights in late June 2026.  81 x 3 minute exposures were stacked to create the final image.  Taken with my MEADE LX90 OTA with the L-eXtreme Filter- details in the footer below 

NGC 7023 The Iris Nebula

The Iris Nebula is a bright reflection nebula located in the constellation Cepheus.  The nebula is illuminated by a single bright star with the designation HD 200775.  

I  captured this target over 3 nights in late June 2026 using my WO Z61 OTA.  The following number of 3 minute exposures were stacked using the filters: L x 124, R x 31, G x 30, B x 28.
